While nutritional supplements and other interventions are sometimes necessary to help get people back into a healthful balance, one of the most important things we can do to improve and maintain a healthy life is to get back to basics: living, vibrant, nutrient-packed, raw food.
A good rule of thumb is: if it's in a bag, a box, carton, can, bottle, don't consume it. Look for FRESH, if possible, LOCAL fruits, vegetables, grains and, if you are a meat-eater, meats.
Shop at your local farmer's market when possible.
When you go to the supermarket, stick to the outer portions of the store-- i.e. where most of the FRESH ingredients are located.
A Raw food diet is extremely helpful for cleansing and healing, at least for as long as you can do it.
